From Pandemic Hobby to Flourishing Embroidery Brand: The Story of Fleur Bravenboer & FLORAFLORA
In a world where creativity often emerges from unexpected moments, Fleur Bravenboer’s story is both inspiring and authentic. Her journey begins at the intersection of personal passion and entrepreneurship—with a simple bandana and an embroidery machine.
1. Planting the Seeds: Corona and the First Steps
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Fleur suddenly found herself with more time and fewer social obligations. According to an interview with Textilia, she came up with the idea to personalize bandana scarves.
She ordered a few scarves, grabbed her embroidery machine, and began stitching names—just for fun, without high expectations. This was the humble beginning of something much bigger.
2. Flora Bandana: A Small, Creative Project
In 2023, Fleur officially launched her creative business project: FLORA BANDANA.
The heart of her brand: bandana scarves with personalized embroidery, often names, in cheerful colors and with meticulous attention to detail. This approach resonated. Her creations were shared on Instagram, transforming her hobby into an online store.
3. Growth and Recognition
By 2024, her business had expanded. What started on a small scale grew “gracefully and powerfully,” as she describes it.
The personalized bandanas began selling in “the most beautiful stores,” and Fleur developed more unique embroidered symbols in addition to text. This confirmed that her brand was no longer just a niche hobby—it had become a serious creative enterprise.
4. Transformation into FLORAFLORA
In 2025, the natural next step came: rebranding. FLORA BANDANA became FLORAFLORA.
The change didn’t happen by chance: customers requested on-the-spot personalized embroidery with initials, symbols, and more. Demand grew beyond just bandanas. Fleur listened and decided to expand her brand.
With the rebranding, she also emphasized sustainability and quality: FLORAFLORA – Quality, Embroidery & Sustainability.
